What our intruder response service covers

Alarms go off for all sorts of reasons: genuine intrusion, insecure doors after a late delivery, a fault, a power cut, or weather moving something that should not move. Whatever the cause, someone has to attend and make a decision. That is what we do.

  • Secure key holding, with keys logged in and out to the attending officer only
  • Attending on alarm activation, day or night
  • External inspection for signs of forced entry, tampering or damage
  • Internal check where you have agreed this as part of the procedure
  • Securing the premises, including gaining access where a lock or door is damaged
  • Calling the police or a glazier or locksmith if the situation requires it
  • Written report after every activation, with photographs where useful
  • Follow-up call to your nominated contact so you know what happened

Who uses intruder response

  • Retail units and convenience stores
  • Offices and professional premises
  • Industrial units, yards and storage compounds
  • Construction sites and vacant buildings
  • Landlords with properties between tenancies
  • Businesses without a manager able to attend every activation
  • Site owners who live outside the area and need someone local to check

What happens when your alarm activates

  1. Your alarm monitoring or nominated contact informs us of the activation.
  2. We check the details we hold for the site: access, contacts and any special instructions.
  3. An officer attends and approaches the premises checking the exterior first.
  4. We look for signs of entry, identify any vulnerable point, and use the agreed procedure before going inside.
  5. The premises are secured, and we call the police where the situation requires it.
  6. You receive a report setting out what we found, what we did and what needs following up.

Key holding, lock-up and site checks

Many clients pair alarm response with routine attendance. Regular lock-up or unlock duties take the job off your managers, especially where one staff member is currently opening and closing every day. For sites that are quiet for long periods we agree a schedule of internal and external checks, including vacant premises and buildings under refurbishment, where a presence alone is often enough to prevent a nuisance visit turning into a real problem.

Response cover across Cumbria

We are based in Maryport, so an officer attending your site is starting from within the county rather than travelling in from elsewhere. That matters most at the times you actually need us: overnight, at weekends and on public holidays.
