What Carlisle clients ask us for

Carlisle produces the widest range of security requirements we deal with. City centre venues need door supervisors working to premises licence conditions, managing queues and refusals across a busy weekend. Retail and commercial premises want a consistent presence and a clear reporting routine. Industrial and distribution sites want the gate controlled properly through shift changeovers and vehicle movements, which is often the busiest and riskiest part of their day.

Event work in the city usually involves a mix of officers and stewards, a defined site layout and tight timings on entry and egress. We plan it the same way we plan our festival and event work elsewhere in Cumbria: numbers and roles agreed in advance, one team briefing, and a supervisor on site throughout.

Working in a bigger market

Carlisle has more security providers to choose from than the west coast towns, so the difference between them comes down to how the service is run rather than how it is described. The questions we suggest clients ask are simple: are officers employed directly or brought in through subcontractors, who supervises the site and how often, what happens when someone calls in sick, and what reporting do you actually receive. We answer all of them in writing as part of our proposal.

Getting to Carlisle and covering the area

Carlisle is a straightforward run up the A595 and A596 from our Maryport office, and our officers cover the city, the M6 corridor and the market towns and villages between Carlisle and the coast. For multi-day events or sites needing cover across the county, working with one provider based locally keeps staffing and supervision consistent.
