What Whitehaven clients ask us for

Whitehaven's harbourside and town centre bring people into a compact area, particularly at weekends and through the summer. That tends to mean licensed premises needing a door team who can manage a queue and keep the pavement outside clear, and neighbouring businesses wanting a visible presence at closing time.

Away from the centre, we look after businesses with early starts, late finishes and shift patterns, where the security need is often about controlling who comes through the gate at changeover and making sure the site is properly secured afterwards. Regular checks and alarm response suit premises that sit empty overnight but hold equipment, stock or vehicles.

Visitors, seasons and busy periods

Coastal towns are seasonal. When visitor numbers rise, so does pressure on parking, entrances and pedestrian routes, and small problems like blocked access or congestion at an entrance become real ones. We plan staffing and positions around the times the area is actually busiest rather than the same cover all year round.

Getting to Whitehaven and covering the area

Whitehaven is down the coast from our Maryport office on the A595, which is the route our officers use for site visits, supervisor checks and response work. From the town we also cover the surrounding villages towards Egremont, Cleator Moor and the valley communities. We visit before the first shift so access, parking and site routines are clear from day one.
