Terms and Conditions
The terms that apply to our security services, from quotations and bookings through to cancellations, insurance and complaints.
Last updated 29 October 2026
About these terms
These terms apply to security, door supervision, event and fire warden services provided by AJ-Security of 12a Selby Terrace, Maryport, Cumbria, CA15 6NF. They apply unless we agree different terms with you in writing.
Quotations and bookings
- Quotations are based on the information you give us and are valid for 30 days.
- A booking is confirmed once we accept it in writing and agree the shifts, hours and rate.
- If the requirement changes after the quote, for example additional officers, longer hours or a different site, we will tell you the revised cost before the change is made.
- Rates are as quoted, exclusive of VAT where VAT applies.
What we provide
Officers are SIA licensed for the role they carry out, employed directly on PAYE, screened and vetted, uniformed, briefed on your site before their first shift, and supervised. We hold public liability insurance and can provide details on request.
What we need from you
- Accurate information about the site, the venue or the event, and about any licence conditions.
- A safe working environment, including lighting, shelter, welfare facilities and a way to raise an alarm.
- A named contact for each shift and clear instructions on reporting and escalation.
- Any site rules, briefing documents or risk assessments we should work to.
Cancellations and changes
Tell us as early as you can if a booking changes or is cancelled. Where officers have already been rostered and shifts are cancelled at short notice, a charge may apply. We will always set out any charge in writing and agree it with you before invoicing.
Liability
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit or lost bookings. You are responsible for the security of your own property and premises unless we have agreed in writing to take on that responsibility.
Circumstances outside our control
If severe weather, road closures, illness or another event outside our control prevents us supplying the agreed cover, we will tell you as soon as we know and use reasonable efforts to provide alternative officers or an alternative arrangement.
Complaints
If something goes wrong, contact the office on 01900 368777 or at admin@aj-security.com with the site and the date. We will look into it and respond in writing, and where an incident has been reported we will share the relevant report with you.
Website content
The text, images and logos on this website belong to AJ-Security or are used with permission. Please do not copy or reuse them without asking. Advice given by the Ask AJ chat is general guidance, not legal advice.
Using this website
You are welcome to read, print and share the pages of this website for your own use. Please do not scrape it, copy it into another site, use it to send automated enquiries, or use the Ask AJ chat to send unlawful, abusive or misleading content. We may change or withdraw parts of the site at any time.
Prices and payments
This website does not take payments. Nothing on the site is a quotation: prices are agreed in writing after we have discussed the site, the hours and the number of officers needed. Rates are exclusive of VAT where VAT applies. An enquiry form or a chat conversation is not a booking.
External links
We link to other websites, such as our training academy, our social media pages and review pages. Those sites are not under our control and have their own terms and privacy notices. A link does not mean we endorse everything on that site.
Website information and the Ask AJ chat
The information on this website, and anything Ask AJ says, is general guidance rather than advice on your specific site. Ask AJ is an AI assistant and can be wrong. Our disclaimer explains this in more detail, and our privacy policy explains how we handle what you send us.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
